Job Title: Team Leader

Location: Dubuque, IA

Contract Duration: 36 Months

Expected hours: 12 Hours per Week

Schedule: Onsite – 3rd Shift 10:30-6 Production Hours. Some Saturday work required.

Pay Range: 35 – 38 $ Per hour

Your Responsibilities

As a Team Leader for Backhoe Operations at John Deere Dubuque Works, you will:

• Monitor and manage safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency metrics
• Drive employee engagement and maintain a positive work environment
• Ensure team members are properly trained and equipped
• Lead safety initiatives including CI and SERA processes
• Manage staffing and line assignments to meet production goals
• Oversee product quality and compliance
• Support factory goals in 5S, CI, manpower planning, and budgeting

What Skills You Need

• 2+ years in a unionized manufacturing environment
• 1+ year in manufacturing and quality management
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Experience enforcing policies and conducting crucial conversations
• Cross-functional communication experience (e.g., HR, engineering, supply chain)

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with John Deere production control systems
• Leadership experience in a union environment
• Familiarity with shop floor and incentive pay systems (e.g., CIPP)
• Cross-functional experience in engineering, quality, or supply management
• Lean manufacturing expertise
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, SAP, SharePoint, PowerBI

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology, Operations, Business/Management, or Supply Management, or equivalent experience
