About the Role

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day warehouse operations, including order picking, packaging, shipping, receiving & inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage warehouse team, including the receiving and shipping functions.
  • Manage the day-to-day warehouse operations, including order picking, packaging, shipping, receiving and inventory management.
  • Develop and analyze reports and metrics to determine the effectiveness of the team and processes.
  • Monitor adherence to standards to ensure business plan objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Manages assigned team, including involvement in the recruitment and selection process of new employees, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for productivity and performance are met.
  • Monitors department budget and ensures that operational costs are within plan.
  • Manages the purchase and/or leasing and maintenance of all material handling equipment to achieve safety, longevity and efficiency objectives.
  • Periodically audits operational procedures and programs related to shipping and receiving and implements necessary improvements to achieve expectations for organization, storage, cleanliness and accuracy of inventory.
  • Ensures compliance with all customers, regulatory and Company directives and policies, especially DOT requirements.
  • Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to ensure the internal and external customer needs are being met.
  • Willingness to “roll up sleeves” and conduct the work of the warehouse team, including picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a College or University diploma or certificate in a related field such as business, administration, science, distribution or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of Distribution and Warehouse experience in a Supervisory or Manager capacity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Focused on staff development - good interpersonal skills, good leader, and coach.
  • Communication skills/Active Listening skills – Professional manner.
  • Good systems and procedural knowledge.
  • Demonstrates initiative and is motivated to get the job done.
  • Must have experience in packaging according to DOT, IATA and UPS regulations and requirements.
