Job Description

Senior Accountant

At CSI Companies, our people make all the difference. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team as a subject matter expert. In this role, you will prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports, and account reconciliations. Additionally, you will also compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries, document business transactions, and maintain and coordinate accounting procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and works well in a collaborative team setting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger system, review ledger entries, and perform reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, journal entries, and cash and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct business analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and manage projects and process enhancements effectively.
  • Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly management reports with actionable insights.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, resolving any discrepancies or issues as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), and internal control policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, ensuring effective use of financial systems.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes work assignments, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.
  • Offer financial insights and recommendations to support management in strategic decision-making.
  • Communicate financial information clearly and present financial reports to management.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Participates in financial projects, including mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvements, providing financial expertise and analysis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting and financial principles, including GAAP.
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other advanced functions.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:
  • Organized and diligent in following up on tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and rectify accounting issues, reconcile discrepancies, and troubleshoot errors.
