Job Title: Research Analyst – ML Foundations

Location: Onsite in Burlingame, CA

Contract Type: W2 Contract

Bill Rate: $80/hr on W2

Duration: 12+ Months and extendable

About the Role:

• We're seeking a Research Scientist IV to join the Input ML Systems team focused on advancing hand pose and gesture recognition for Mixed Reality devices. This role plays a critical part in enhancing data quality, supporting ML experimentation, and delivering insights that shape cutting-edge human-computer interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct data collection and manual annotation for hand gestures and pose
• Perform data quality reviews, error correction, and QA
• Define data collection requirements and create clear instructions for participants/moderators
• Run machine learning training and evaluation jobs, and conduct failure analysis
• Support experimentation with models and visualize performance results
• Provide experiential testing and feedback on gesture model quality

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years in ML operations, data analysis, and Python-based data visualization
• Proficiency in Python, especially with pandas and data visualization libraries
• Experience identifying and resolving data quality issues
• Strong data analysis skills to aggregate, summarize, and interpret datasets

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of Machine Learning / Deep Learning concepts
• Ability to translate data requirements into well-structured documentation (text, images, videos)
• Familiarity with ML pipelines (data prep, training, evaluation)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Comfort with Linux OS and command-line tools
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new systems and tools

• You'll work alongside Computer Vision Engineers and Research Scientists in a collaborative environment that values innovation and technical excellence. The focus is on developing systems that enable next-generation user interaction through advanced gesture and pose recognition.
