The Pathologists' Assistant is responsible for the preparation, gross description and dissection of surgical pathology specimens and the performance of postmortem examinations under the medical direction of the pathologist(s) while implementing the hospital and laboratory missions, goals and objectives.

Additional Requirements: 

• Independent judgement and initiative required to schedule, organize, and plan work.
• Responsible for care and accuracy in collection and labeling specimens.
• Flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations including working additional hours or shifts.
• Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods of time, and under stress.
• Knowledge of HIS and LIS, assorted laboratory instrumentation appropriate to scope of position and dependent upon current technology.

(PA)ASCP required.  Equivalent certification not accepted

Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload.   RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD WILL NOT BE APPROVED!!  NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).   Patient Population: Hospital with some OP surgery center

Requirement Description

• 2+ years current Pathology Assistant experience
• (PA)ASCP required.  Equivalent certification not accepted
• MUST be competent in performing FROZEN SECTIONS, GROSSING BIOPSIES AND LARGE COMPLEX SPECIMENS
• Master Degree Preferred, but will review those with Bachelor Degree
• EMR:  EPIC Beaker - Experience strongly preferred 
• Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
• ALL medical/occ health compliance items MUST be ordered/collected/resulted within 5 days of offer acceptance for this client.  Proofs MUST be uploaded to Trio.
