Mid-Level Corporate Attorney – Investment Services Focus | New York City, NY

A nationally respected law firm is hiring a Corporate Associate with 4–7 years of experience to join its Investment Services team in New York City. This partner-track position offers direct client interaction, leadership opportunities, and the chance to work across offices on complex transactions involving registered investment companies and advisers.

This mid-sized, East Coast law firm practices within three general areas of the law: corporate, labor and employment, and litigation. Key Responsibilities:

• Counsel clients on compliance under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933

• Lead or contribute to fund reorganizations, mergers, and other high-level investment company transactions

• Advise mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds, and independent trustees/directors

• Manage multiple client matters in a fast-paced setting while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance

• Participate in strategic business development and deepen client relationships

• Collaborate cross-office with legal teams and firm leadership on investment-related matters

Qualifications:

• 4–7 years of experience advising on registered investment companies and adviser regulation

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• Advanced understanding of securities laws, fund operations, and compliance frameworks

• Ability to provide clear, solution-oriented guidance to institutional clients

• Excellent legal drafting, communication, and project management skills

• Proactive mindset with a client-focused, collaborative work ethic
