Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician in the Clarksville, TN area with experience in the tire or heavy manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal operation of production machinery and equipment, including preventive and emergency maintenance. This position requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production machinery and plant systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues related to tire manufacturing equipment (e.g., curing presses, extruders, calendars, and building machines).
  • Monitor and maintain plant utilities such as air compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  • Utilize maintenance tracking system to log all work performed and maintain service records.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Fabricate or modify equipment parts using appropriate tools.
  • Support production by minimizing downtime and ensuring safe, efficient machine performance.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to reduce production delays.
  • Follow all OSHA and plant safety regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 2–5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (tire industry experience highly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC basics.
  • Familiarity with tire manufacturing equipment and processes is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welders, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform tasks in tight spaces.
  • Successful candidate will be place on night shift upon completing training. Shift is a 2-2-3 shift, 5:45pm – 6:00am.
