Job Description

ROBERT HALF LEGAL has partnered with a boutique personal injury firm in Woodland Hills in their search for a Legal Assistant. This is a short-term, full-time contract opportunity to assist the firm with general pre-litigation support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interview clients, gather details, and provide updates on case progress.
• Draft demand letters, correspondence, and pre-litigation paperwork.
• Organize case files, medical records, and reports electronically or physically.
• Conduct legal research on claims, statutes, and insurance policies.
• Manage appointments with clients, mediators, and providers.
• Submit claims, verify coverage, and track communications with insurers.
• Collect and summarize medical records and billing details
• Gather evidence like photos, police reports, and witness statements
• Answer phones, organize calendars, and file documents.
• Monitor task lists and ensure timely case progress.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience working in a plaintiff personal injury firm in a similar capacity.
• High school diploma required; associate degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
• Ability to manage and maintain detailed case files and meet deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication for interacting with clients, attorneys, and third parties.
• Basic understanding of personal injury law or willingness to learn on the job.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, case management software, and database tools.
• Ability to conduct basic legal research and summarize findings.
• Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive client information.
• Capacity to work on multiple pre-litigation tasks efficiently and prioritize workload.
• High level of accuracy in preparing documents and reviewing case materials.
• Willingness to support attorneys and team members in a fast-paced environment.
