A-Prime is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and install loading dock and door equipment, conveyors, compacters and balers along with vertical freight lifts at customer locations, performing scheduled maintenance and ensuring equipment is in proper working order. This role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, communication skills, and the ability to operate service vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnoses and repairs various issues, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
· Installation: Installs new equipment, ensuring proper alignment, functionality, and safety.
· Preventive Maintenance: Performs regular maintenance tasks on customer equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
· Customer Interaction: Communicates with customers to understand their needs, explain repairs, and provide technical assistance.
· Record Keeping: Maintains accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.
· Safety Compliance: Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures when working on equipment and at customer sites.
· Service Vehicle Maintenance: Maintains the company service vehicle, ensuring it is clean, well-stocked with parts, and in good working order.
· Travel: Travels to customer locations across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Southern New Hampshire.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude: Demonstrates a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
· Problem-Solving: Able to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues.
· Communication: Communicates effectively with customers and coworkers.
· Customer Service: Provides excellent customer service and builds positive relationships with customers.
· Safety Conscious: Prioritizes safety and adheres to all safety regulations.
· Valid Driver's License: Able to drive a service vehicle and operate lift trucks.
· Physical Requirements: Able to lift heavy objects, work in various environments (indoors and outdoors), and climb ladders.
· Welding experience – preferred but not required
