Job Description

Federal Project Manager – DoD Construction

We are currently seeking a skilled Project Manager with experience managing federal and Department of Defense (DoD) construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of military construction standards, quality control protocols, and federal contract requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience managing vertical or horizontal construction on secure installations and coordinating with government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all phases of federal construction projects, from award through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure strict compliance with contract documents, FAR/DFARS requirements, EM 385-1-1, and USACE/NAVFAC quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project), budgets, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Supervise field operations and collaborate closely with onsite superintendents and quality control managers.
  • Coordinate site logistics, safety protocols, and security clearances in accordance with federal guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting for progress meetings, inspections, and audits.
  • Mentor project engineers and junior staff, fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in commercial or federal construction project management.
  • Direct experience managing DoD, USACE, or NAVFAC projects is required.
  • Proficiency with RMS (Resident Management System), Procore, and other construction management platforms.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) Certification required.
  • EM 385-1-1 40-hour Certification and OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal contract administration, safety regulations, and quality assurance programs.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one is a plus.
