Take-Off Project Engineer – Heavy Civil GC East Bay

Location: East Bay, CA

Salary: Up to $85,000

About the Company

Our client is a well-established heavy civil general contractor in the East Bay, specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects. They are seeking a Take-Off Project Engineer who is eager to develop their skills in estimating while supporting project teams with accurate quantity take-offs and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and roadway improvements.
• Assist estimators in analyzing project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Utilize HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other estimating software to perform measurements and calculations.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure take-offs align with project scope and execution.
• Support bid preparation by gathering vendor quotes and subcontractor pricing.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits to gain hands-on experience.
• Maintain organized records of take-offs and cost data for future reference.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in civil construction, engineering, or estimating.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and estimating principles .
• Proficiency in HeavyBid, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD .
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the estimating field.
