Job Description

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Data Analyst (DA) will have a fantastic unmatched opportunity to gain expertise In Cannabis Data Analytics as member of the largest cannabis data operation in the world, growing her or his data engineering and technical skills. The DA is a member of the company's Data and Analytics organization. The DA will work with both internal departments and external customers alike. The Data and Analytics team services internal and external teams by executing analysis that create actionable insights.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Embodies company's Leadership Principles
  • The DA Is proficient in SQL and can navigate/query company's numerous databases, converge data with or without ETL tools, but ultimately delivers data, analytics, insights, or all the above to the Data organization, company, and company's customers.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and persevere in detailed analysis. Some answers are not easy and can take days to find.
  • The DA spends time documenting Business Requirements and creating Functional or Technical Specifications for needs that require advanced data engineering.
  • The DA has a can-do attitude and is respectful of others
  • The DA wants and is able to seek out answers without guidance but has the comfort of knowing that Subject Matter Experts are close by to help when needed.
  • The DA will seek out new metrics within existing data, looking to improve on the existing foundation of analytics.
  • The DA will proactively analyze customer data to build stories with the data that is captured in their respective jurisdictions.

QUALIFICATIONS- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Experience in the cannabis industry is not required (if very strong in other qualifications) but is strongly desired.
  • Four years or more experience with Data Analysis and Analytics
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics or a similar study is required. Other degrees are acceptable if candidate has deep technical experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python and Tableau development to pair with Data Analytics experience.
  • Reporting tool experience (ex: Tableau, Power BI, Domo, Looker, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Reporting tool development experience is favorable but not required.
  • ETL tool experience is favored but not required (ex: Alteryx, Tibco, Tray.Io, Workado, MuleSoft, Metallion, FiveTran)
  • AI and Machine Learning experience a plus, basic understanding required
  • Heavy Microsoft Excel experience (formulas, pivots, lookups), Visio a plus, proficiency with the remainder of MS Office suite
  • Basic understanding of client service: this position exists to help others; we are a business support function that supports a commercial business, and the Data Analytics team prides ourselves by treating our customers like customers.
